Counterpoint: Galaxy S24 series' sales surpass Galaxy S23 globally, the Ultra remains most popu
The Galaxy S23 series sold way better than the S22 generation before it, now Galaxy S24 series has sold even better, reports Counterpoint Research. Things began with strong pre-orders and the momentum has kept up into the start of open sales. Samsung increased its shipment target for the first quarter of 2024 to 13 million units (up from the original estimate of 12 million).
Globally, sales of the Galaxy S24 series is 8% higher than the S23 models in the same period (January 28 to February 17). This doesn’t sound like much, but some regions saw a more significant increase.
Boosted by strong pre-orders in Western Europe (the UK, Germany and France in particular), the sales of S24 phones are up 28%. In South Korea, the flagship trio sold 22% more. In the US, the numbers are 14% higher.

As for the mix between the individual S24 models, things are a bit more balanced this year. In 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra accounted for 60% of total sales, while the S23 and S23+ were around 20% each.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra made up 52% of total sales, based on Counterpoint’s data. Interestingly, the small Galaxy S24 rose in popularity to 27% of sales.
