Asus Zenfone 6 video teardown peeks at the flip camera from the inside

2021-05-26

A couple of days ago the intriguing Asus Zenfone 6 was put through a torture test, focusing on its flip camera. This ended up being much more resilient than most people would"ve thought. But what if you feel the need to dig even deeper?

Well then, this teardown video, from the same JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, is for you. Not content to just peek at the camera from the outside, Zack takes the whole phone apart this time in order to show us what it looks like from the inside.

So you get a nice serving of interestingly stacked parts, bits, and pieces, but probably the centerpiece of the teardown is unsurprisingly the camera - and specifically the mechanism that makes it flip up with such ease. We won"t spoil anything about it for you, just make sure you watch the video to get an idea of how it works.

The phone is held together with a lot of glue, although the battery comes off much easier than it should, possibly thanks to an error in the process that is supposed to make it adhere to the back side of the screen. Speaking of the display, it"s going to be hard to replace because it"s permanently glued to the metal housing.
