Asus ROG Phone 5s series arrives in Europe, starting at €999
Back in August, Asus announced an “S” refresh for its ROG Phone series with the ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro and now the pair have officially made their way to Europe. ROG Phone 5s starts at €999 in its 12GB RAM and 512GB storage trim.
There’s a midway 16/512GB model which retails for €1,099 while the top-of-the-line 5s Pro with 18GB RAM and 512GB storage is on pre-order for €1,299. All new phones are available to pre-order from the Asus eStore. First shipments are expected for later this month. ROG Phone 5s comes in Phantom Black and Storm White while 5s Pro is only offered in Phantom Black.
The key selling point of both gaming handsets is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset which has an overclocked Prime Kryo 680 CPU core running at 3.0 GHz as well as a 20% improved AI engine. Another slight improvement is the 24.0 ms touch latency on both 5s models thanks to the new 360Hz touch sampling rate. The rest of the specs and features remain unchanged from the ROG Phone 5 and 5 Ultimate.
You still get 6.78-inch 144Hz E4 AMOLED displays, Asus’ dual-control ultrasonic side sensors, 6,000 mAh batteries with 65W charging and ROG UI over Android 11. For more details on the 5s Pro, you can head over to our ROG Phone 5s Pro review or watch the video breakdown below.
