Apple expands independent repair program to Canada and Europe
Apple officially allowed independent shops to repair your iPhone one year ago. The program first launched in the US and currently boasts over 700 locations that are part of 140 independent companies.
Now the Independent Repair Provider Program is expanding to Canada and 32 countries in Europe. You will be able to view which companies in your city are certified by Apple on this page (currently, it only shows US locations).
This program ensures that repair shops will use genuine Apple parts, tools and repair manuals. Any company that wants to can join for free, training is also free. The training involves certifying the company's technicians through an online testing platform. The certifications are per device and are updated annually.
