8 MP Sony Ericsson Aino enters the touchscreen game

Sony Ericsson Aino is the second name that came out of the hat at the company's event in London tonight. The second slider in a row boasts a lengthy specs sheet, including an 8 megapixel shooter, flawless connectivity and Playstation 3 integration.

Sony Ericsson Aino comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA support to enable worldwide roaming. It will also have limited touchscreen functionality thanks to the 3" capacitive touchscreen 16M color display of WQVGA (432 x 240 pixels) resolution.

By "limited" we mean that you can actually "touch" your way around only in the special touch-optimized multimedia menu and the camera.

A powerful photography tool, the Sony Ericsson Aino comes with an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with a LED flash. The other highlight features include GPS and Wi-Fi as well as FM radio with RDS. The usual suspects USB and Bluetooth are also onboard.

One of the suggested key selling points of the Sony Ericsson Aino is its integration with the Playstation 3 game console. The Remote Play feature, initially developed for PSP, enables users to control and access media content on Playstation 3 from their phone.
