43 Samsung products win CES 2022 Innovation Awards, including the Z Flip3 Bespoke edition

No less than 43 Samsung products were honored with a CES 2022 Innovation Award, including four that won Best of Innovations awards. CES will be making an in-person return on January 4 and Jong-Hee Han, President and Head of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, will be delivering a pre-show keynote. Now let’s have a look at what won what award.

The new bespoke edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is a Best of Innovation Award winner. The regular version of the device also scored wins in the Digital Imaging/Photography and Mobile Devices & Accessories categories.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 was also honored in the Digital Imaging/Photography and Mobile Devices & Accessories categories, the latter category also includes Samsung’s Galaxy A series.

As for wearables, the Galaxy Watch4 series became an Innovation honoree in the Health & Fitness and Wearable Technologies categories, the Galaxy Buds2 represented Samsung in the Headphones & Personal Audio category. The SmartTag+ scored another win in the Accessories category.

Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 won in the Embedded Technologies category as the industry’s first 200 MP 0.64 µm image sensor for phones. If rumors are to be believed, the first phones to use this sensor are just months away.

Samsung’s Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptop scored a win in the Computer Hardware & Components category. The same category saw wins for Samsung’s 512 GB DDR5 RDIMM module (another industry first) and for the U.2 ZNS NVMe SSD (PM1731a), the first to deliver Zoned Namespace (ZNS) technology. ZNS groups data by usage and access frequency and stores it in a way that prolongs the drives life (it extends the endurance rating 3-4 times). The Samsung PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD (PM1743) brought home another win.

Some Samsung home appliances also won awards (Samsung makes a lot off stuff): the 30” Smart Induction built-in cooktop (which was recognized for its power-saving features) and the Top Load Washer.
