2024 iPad Pro and iPad Air details leak

Apple is working on new tablets that are to be introduced in the next few weeks. Both the Pro and Air are going to be upgraded, according to a new rumor. And there will be two of each.

For the first time ever, Apple will offer the iPad Air in two sizes, just like it does with the Pro. There will be an 11" iPad Air seemingly borrowing its predecessor's dimensions, but also a new 12.9" iPad Air, measuring 280.6 x 214.9 x 6 mm.

The upcoming 11-inch iPad Pro will measure 249.7 x 177.5 x 5.1 mm, compared to the current model's 247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm. The 12.9" iPad Pro coming this year will be a tiny bit longer and wider than the iPad Air with the same screen size, but thinner - which seems a bit funny since the Air was supposedly all about thinness.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will measure 281.5 x 215.5 x 5 mm, whereas the current model's dimensions are 280.6 x 214.9 x 6.4 mm. That's a pretty significant decrease in thickness from one generation to the next, and should hopefully make handling such a huge device a little bit easier. This extra thinness reportedly has to do with the Pro line switching to OLED displays.

The new iPads are expected to land by the end of March, and accessory makers are already ramping up production of cases for them. The new iPad Pros will feature the M3 chip, while it's unclear if the Airs will also jump to M3 or just to M2. At this time it isn't certain that Apple will hold an event to make them official - press release-only launches have happened in the past.
