14" and 15.6" RedmiBook Pro 2022 Ryzen edition laptops unveiled with 6000H processors

Xiaomi upgraded the RedmiBook Pro 15 laptop to 12th gen Intel processors back in March, now it’s time for the Ryzen version of the laptop to get a new CPU. The selection is the same as last year just one generation ahead – the base model comes with a Ryzen 6600H, but you can also pick a 6800H. And you can get an Nvidia GPU if you want it. The 14” model was updated as well, using the same processors, though without the GPU option.

The Ryzen 6600H is a 6-core/12-thread processor (6nm TSMC) with a built-in AMD 660M GPU (6 compute units) and a TDP of 45W. The GPU is built on the RDNA 2 architecture, which means noticeably higher performance than the Vega GPUs of previous Ryzen generations.

Ryzen 6600H or 6800H processor • 16GB of LPDDR5 6,400MHz RAM • Optional Nvidia RTX 2050

The Ryzen 6800H option increases the core count to 8-cores/16-threads and doubles the GPU compute units to 12 (680M) while also increasing their clock speed from 1.9GHz to 2.2GHz. This is a 45W part as well. Whichever processor you choose, it will be kept cool by two fans.

Xiaomi went with LPDDR5 (6,400MHz), the only available option is 16GB. For storage, you get a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, again with no other options.

One thing that you can choose is whether you want an additional GPU or not. On offer is the same Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 that was also used in the Intel version of this laptop as well. It comes with 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

Moving on to the screen, it is a 15.6” panel with 3,200 x 2,000px resolution. It has 90Hz refresh rate and boasts 100% sRGB coverage with perfect calibration (deltaE

15.6" 3.2K 90Hz display • CNC-machined aluminum alloy body • Wired connectivity

The aluminum alloy body of the laptop measures 14.9mm. It is milled on a CNC machine than sandblasted for a matte finish. Inside is a 72Wh battery, which can last for up to 14 hours of typical usage.

Connectivity includes a Thunderbolt 4 port, USB-C (3.2 Gen 2) and USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) ports as well as an HDMI 2.0 and a headphone jack. On the wireless front there is Wi-Fi 6 (ax). There is an SD card reader on board as well (UHS-II). Finally, the keyboard is backlit.

The RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen edition starts at CNY 5,500 ($820/€770/?64,000) for a 6600H processor, 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage. It is already available for pre-order in China on mi.com, sales will start on May 31 (Tuesday). Note that if you put down a CNY 100 deposit now, Xiaomi will knock CNY 900 of the price, meaning that the base model starts at CNY 4,700 ($700/€660/?54,500)

You can get the 6800H processor for CNY 6,100 (as mentioned earlier, there are no other RAM/storage options). There are two configurations with the RTX 2050 – one with a 6600H processor (CNY 6,700) and one with a 6800H (CNY 7,300).

This smaller laptop also comes with a Ryzen 6600H or 6800H with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage (LPDDR5 6,400Mhz and PCIe 4.0). There is no option for an additional GPU, however, so the on-board RNDA 2 graphics is all you get. This model comes with a 56WHr battery that promises up to 10 hours of battery life.

The display measures 14” and maintains the same standard of quality – 100% sRGB, deltaE

The resolution drops to 2.5K but the refresh rate increases to 120Hz. Unfortunately, even the 680M GPU will have trouble hitting 120fps on new titles.
