Honor Magic7 Pro teaser video shows off new quad camera
This Wednesday, Honor will unveil the next major version of its Android software, MagicOS 9.0. Wednesday next week, the company will also unveil the first flagships to use that software – the Honor Magic7 series.
The company even offered a quick glimpse at one of the phones, the Honor Magic7 Pro, probably. Here’s the teaser video, which shows off the characteristic camera island shape that we also saw on the Magic6, but now with four lenses instead of three.
This colorway is called “Moon Shadow Gray” and was inspired by the first sci-fi movie A Trip to the Moon.
What the video doesn’t show you is the front – you can see that (in schematic form) in the user manual instead. Like the Magic6 Pro, the Magic7 Pro will have a pill-shaped punch hole with 3D ToF sensor for secure face recognition.
The rear camera will offer 6x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. As you can see on the schematic, the top left module has the square lens that is typical of periscope modules.
The user manual also shows the location of the side keys, the USB-C port (which also handles wired headphones, there’s no 3.5mm jack) and the dual nano-SIM tray (there’s no microSD slot).
You can also have a look at the front of the Honor Magic7 Pro in the hands of CEO George Zhao. It’s clear that the phone will have a curved display, just like its predecessor.
