Honor Magic5 Lite surfaces on the Google Play Console with a Snapdragon 695 chipset

2023-01-06

The Honor Magic4 series made its debut in February, so it’s almost time for the new series. We have seen some leaks that indicate that the premium Magic5 model will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. But there’s also going to be an affordable “lite” model and that one will use a lower power chip – a Snapdragon 695, according to the Google Play Console.

The Honor Magic4 Lite also used a Snapdragon 695, but this appears to be a different version of the chip. The six Cortex-A55 derived little cores run at 1.8GHz instead of the standard 1.7GHz. The two Cortex-A78 based big cores run at 2.2GHz, same as on the original chip.

Honor has used this chipset before, by the way, the Honor X9 5G also has its little cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Other than that, the X9 is nearly identical to the Magic4 Lite (also, the two launched a week apart).

The Magic5 Lite (aka Honor HNRMO-Q and RMO-NX1) runs Android 12 and packs 8GB of RAM, based on the GPC info. Also, it has an FHD+ display (1,080 x 2,400px, 20:9). The dimensions are not known at the moment, but the 2022 model had a large 6.81” LCD and this one should be in the same ballpark. From the image posted by the GPC it looks like the new model will have a curved display (the Magic4 Lite had a flat display).

Considering that the launch isn"t too far into the future, we should start seeing more details on the upcoming Honor Magic5 series soon.
