Asus Zenfone 7 Pro disassembly video shows a new flip-up camera design
The Asus Zenfone 7 Pro is one of few phones that have a flip-up camera – its predecessor had one too. However, the disassembly video below shows that Asus has significantly modified the design.
If you watch this video, showing the disassembly of the Zenfone 6, you’ll see that the motor is located right next to the camera module it rotates. On the Zenfone 7 the motor is built into the camera module itself.
One thing that hasn’t changed is the stacked PCB design – there are two boards on top of each other. Both are cooled through thermal paste and copper, including two heat pipes wick heat away from the chipset and dump it into a copper block glued to the back of the screen.
The Zenfone 7 Pro seems easy to disassemble for the most part, however there are a few places where the use of adhesive makes things tricky. There are also many, many cables connecting everything.
