Apple to launch MacBook Air 13 and 15 this summer with M3 chips
According to Mark Gurman, a renowned Apple analyst, the company plans to launch a new MacBook 13 and 15-inch versions powered by the upcoming M3 chips. Some new iMacs are also on the horizon as well as a redesigned Mac Pro.
Let"s start with the MacBooks. The new Airs will likely be announced sometime this spring or summer. Gurman suspects that both versions of the notebook will run on the M3 chip.
Speaking of Apple"s silicon, the M3 Pro and M3 Max, which are the more potent variants of the M3 chip, will launch sometime in 2024, bringing major efficiency boost thanks to the improved 3nm node.
The upcoming Mac Pro and iMac Set will get huge upgrades too. The M2 Ultra chip with 24 CPU cores, 76 GPU cores and up to 192GB RAM will power up the Mac Pro, while the iMac is expected to receive the M3 treatment, just like the 13 and 15-inch Airs. The Mac Pro should make an appearance alongside the MacBooks.
The standard iMacs with 24-inch screens are also due for an upgrade and Gurman predicts major changes in internal design. In addition to the new Apple M-series SoCs, the internal components and design have changed and a new stand attachment is also expected. A launch date in the second half of this year is the most likely scenario
Last but not least, an iPad Pro is also in the cards with the new M3 chip on board and an OLED screen.
