All Redmi K40 phones will have high refresh rate screens and fast charging, claims leakster

The current Redmi K30 line-up is a bit of a mess with screen refresh rate ranging from 60Hz through 120Hz to 144Hz across various LCD and OLED panels. Similarly, the phones have 27W, 30W or 33W fast charging. According to Weibo leakster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming K-series flagships should be more unified.

All Redmi K40 models will have fast refresh screens and fast charging. Don’t expect massive improvements from the current generation, though, the 3C already certified a possible K40 (Pro?) phone with 33W fast charging using the same MDY-11-EX power brick as the K30 Pro.

A MIIT listing for that same device, the M2006J10C, reveals that it’s a 5G phone. Current speculations suggest that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 775G chipset, a beefier version of the current 750G chip.

Qualcomm should unveil the 775G alongside the Snapdragon 875 flagship on December 1. The latter will likely show up in the premium Redmi K40 models.

Before any of that happens, however, the Redmi team will unveil the Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G on November 24. The Pro model will use the aforementioned Snapdragon 750G chipset and will feature a 30-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate display. Also, a 4,820 mAh battery with 33W charging and a 108 MP main camera.

Xiaomi is yet to officially confirm the date, but this event will be one to watch as it should set the baseline for the more premium K-series phones.
